Close-up of the finish. Remember this is a
wrap. Today they would just finish the top veneer. In the 70s
they used wood grained wraps. There is actually a good reason for
this. Most natural finish wood drums don't gig well. They scratch
and gouge too easily. The wood wraps are much more durable.
The serial number gives a good idea as to the year. It looks like
17472xx which would be approximately 1978/1979. |
