Here is a little more info on the drums and my self. My name is Garrett
Lucht and I reside in a little town in Southern California.  have been
playing on and off, mostly off lately, for about 30 years now. I call myself
a collector now, not a drummer! I acquired the black/white Vistalites from a
friend I was working with here, but he lived in Northern California and his
wife managed a self storage business. He knew I played and called me up one
day and said he had some drums in a unit that someone quit paying rent on. I
asked him to describe them to me and he said they were black and white
Ludwigs. I knew about Vistas but it didn't register at the time and since
they were Ludwigs, I was interested. he said I could have them for $250. I
said ok and another friend up there visiting brought them down. they came in
the original naugahyde cases and had been stored with the heads slightly
detuned to allow for the heat and cold. They also came with all the hardware
and 4 Zildjian cymbals. I scored! Now, the Black Cortex. Another friend of
mine had a buddy going for a state sponsored vacation (jail) and needed some
money for the books and wanted to sell some drums. I went and looked at
them. I could tell the were Luddys from the hardware, but they were covered
in contact paper, like you use in kitchen cabinets. I paid $260 for them,
again with all the hardware and 4 mixed cymbals, Paiste's and Zildjian's.
Another score! I acquired the Smoke Vistalites from Guitar Center, minus the
snare, which I then bought a very nice snare from Frank V's collection. My
wife bought me the 6.5" red/white vista for Christmas last year from Frank V
also. The B/O Supra came with the black cortex and I bought the keystone
badge Supra at a pawn shop for $50. I really enjoy the drums and I am
selling my other drums (Slingerlands) to buy more Ludwigs.
