70's Gold Sparkle kit. This was a rewrap when I got it
and so I don't know the original finish. Someone had mangled the
badges pretty bad on all of the drums and had painted the interiors gray
on the toms. The bass drum had been re-lacquered and had new bearing
edges cut. I re-badged them and toyed with the idea of removing the
paint and re-lacquering the toms as well but I decided to paint them white
instead (hey...at least its a color that Ludwig used...just not this time
period!). The drums are stunning to look at in person.
1971 5.5x14 Acrolyte snare. These are a great sounding
snare drum and can be picked up for less then $100 on Ebay. I bought
this one for $66. I am told the shells are the same as the ones used
on the Ludaloy Supraphonics.
